New to pickleball?

Pickleball brings together elements of tennis, badminton and table tennis. It's played with a solid paddle and a light plastic ball with holes, usually as doubles. Here's what makes it so easy to get into.

Where we play

Our pickleball sessions take place at the Ladywell Centre Sports Hall on Dressington Avenue, close to Ladywell Fields. Being indoors means sessions go ahead whatever the weather, all year round. It's easy to reach from Ladywell, Brockley, Catford, Lewisham, Forest Hill and Sydenham.

Looking for your own paddle? Our partnership with HEAD means you can save on pickleball paddles and balls in our pickleball shop.

Comfortable sportswear and clean, non-marking indoor trainers, as all of our sessions are held in a sports hall.

Pickleball is played on a badminton-sized court with a solid paddle and a light plastic ball. Serves are underarm, and a non-volley zone by the net (the kitchen) means points are won with touch and tactics as much as power. Many tennis players find it quick to pick up.
